Katie Grows......

I am a grateful "sheep mom" this afternoon as I feed Katie. She is growing as she should, bouncing, racing around the paddock, and getting in to trouble .... like any healthy little lamb should! She spends her nights with Noah, Millie's smaller twin, in a safe stall in the barn, and as soon as they are done with breakfast, they join a few of my more docile ewes in the paddock.

Sadly, Katie's mom is still not interested in her. We tried for three days to help her accept her new baby, but she just was not a good mom. That is okay though, Martha is a valued fiber producing member of this flock and will remain just that. I can forgive her ...after all she has given me a much needed little gift.

Kelly...I haven't had a chance to read in a while and just got caught up. I have to tell you that your blogs make me smile, laugh and sometimes cry (I just read about the lamb in April and still have tears running down my cheeks). Thanks for sharing your little corner of the world with all of us! You are such a gifted writer and I enjoy it so much! ...Wendy

Kelly,
So good to meet you at the Fiber Frolic and look forward to seeing more of you and your farm on this website. I enjoyed talking with you about your sheep. We live in Jackman, Maine, remember? We have a 2 1/2 mile piece of land and are very interested in adopting two lambs by fall. Do you think the chocolate lamb that you had at the Fiber Frolic will possibly be for sale? He will certainly have an amazing calm personality after all of the car rides you have brought him on....smile! Give me a ring at 668-2501 or email me at acheyd@sad12.com if you have any lambs this fall....we're only interested in fiber and adding babies to our "empty nest." Thanks, Deb
